About the Report

The Bulligence Q2 2026 Social Media Transparency Report is the result of 14 weeks of research, involving technical analysis, regulatory document review, and interviews with 23 current and former platform employees across six companies.

Scoring Methodology

Platforms were scored across four pillars: Data Governance (how data is collected, stored, and shared), Algorithmic Transparency (how recommendations are generated and disclosed), User Controls (the effectiveness of privacy settings), and Regulatory Compliance (adherence to GDPR, CCPA, and DSA obligations).

Headline Results

No platform achieved a passing score across all four pillars. LinkedIn scored highest overall (61/100), driven by relatively strong data governance practices and transparent ad targeting controls. TikTok scored lowest (28/100), primarily due to opacity around its data transfer practices and algorithmic recommendation logic.
